Your words do more than communicate what you are thinking—they help shape the atmosphere around you. God has not simply called us to stop speaking harmful words; He has called us to intentionally speak life.

In Part 2 of this series, Pastor T. Wayne Daniels challenges us to recognize the spiritual significance of our words. Scripture teaches us to speak words that build up rather than tear down, to speak God's truth even when our emotions tell us something different, and to intentionally encourage the people God has placed around us.

But lasting change does not begin with simply trying harder to control our tongue. James reminds us that no human being can tame the tongue. Transformation must begin deeper—in the heart. As the Holy Spirit changes us from within, the fruit of the Spirit begins to influence not only how we live, but also how we speak.

Don't simply describe the atmosphere with your words. Change the atmosphere with your words.
