At Kingdom Life, prayer is our first response — never our last resort. Below you’ll find prayer and fasting resources designed to strengthen, guide, and encourage you as you grow deeper in your personal prayer and fasting journey.

KL commits to weekly Wednesday praying & fasting.
Wednesday Night Prayer | 7–8 PM | All Are Welcome.

Beginning now, we are calling Kingdom Life to commit to fasting every Wednesday and gathering for prayer from 7:00–8:00 PM in the auditorium.

This is not just an open hour — it is a corporate pursuit of God’s presence. We are asking every member to intentionally set aside something each Wednesday — whether food, media, comfort, or distraction — and come ready to seek Him together.

The auditorium will be open for focused, intentional prayer. There will be no formal program, no performance — just a church family united in hunger, surrender, and expectation.

Let’s be a praying church.
Let’s be a fasting church.
Let’s pursue His presence together.

Make Wednesday your commitment.

Prayer & Fasting Guides

WHY WE PRAY

Prayer is essential to our faith, and we believe that when we pray, things change. Prayer is our direct line of communication with God. When we pray, we can express adoration, confess our sins, give thanks, and make our requests and supplications known. We see through the life of Jesus that He spent hours in prayer.

Luke 5:16 (NIV): “But Jesus often withdrew to lonely places and prayed.”

If Jesus withdrew from the busyness of life to spend time in prayer, how much more should we? He set the example for us to prioritize prayer, so we could live in intimacy with the Father and align our hearts with His will and our community.

There are different ways to pray, but one we would encourage you to use is the ACTS prayer model.

ACTS PRAYER MODEL

Adoration: We worship God for who He is—His character, attributes, and greatness.

Confession: We humbly acknowledge our sins and seek forgiveness through Christ.

Thanksgiving: We express gratitude to God for His blessings and faithfulness in our lives.

Supplication: We bring our requests and needs before God, trusting in His provision and wisdom.

WHY WE FAST

Fasting holds a significant place in Scripture, which makes it vital for every believer. It is a time for us to humbly express our utter dependence on God. When we fast, we’re communicating to God that we desire him more than anything else. Practically, fasting is voluntarily abstaining from food, or other worldly comforts, for a specific period of time. Fasting is found throughout the Bible as a means of self-denial, repentance, and seeking God’s will (Matthew 6:16-18, Joel 2:12-13). It is a spiritual discipline that helps us focus on God and discern His voice more clearly.

TYPES OF FASTING

Full Fast: Abstaining from all food and only consuming water.

Liquid Fast: Consuming only liquids for a specific period of time.

Partial Fast: Abstaining from specific kinds of food, such as meat or sugar.

Media Fast: Choosing to abstain from certain technologies, like TV or social media, to prioritize prayer and spiritual reflection.
